Small-Town School Leader Earns More Than 670K Votes in California Superintendent Race

Wendy Castañeda Leal, a superintendent from a small school district in Kern County, received more than 658,000 votes in the primary for California superintendent of public instruction with the help of a small team of volunteers and without any campaign contributions.
